2022 Photo Club and 4th Grader’s Exhibit
The EAC Photo Club has its annual exhibit on display through the end of April. There are thirteen members showing images of wildlife, landscapes, flora and a variety of subjects. Along with the members’ exhibit are photos by aspiring 4th grade student photographers from Ms. Bosma’s and Mr. Perleberg’s classes showing colorful images of “found art designs”.
Since receiving a grant from the Evansville Historical Society in 2017 for the purchase of cameras and equipment, the EAC Photo Club has been assisting the 4th graders in photo composition, hopefully sparking further interest in photography.
If you are interested in learning more about photographic processes, techniques and having fun going on location photo shoots please join us on the first Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. here at the Evansville Arts Center.
Photographs of an African Safari
Join us on April 7th for a special presentation
During the latter half of September and beginning of October 2021, Barbara Johnson, a member of the EAC Photo Club, went on a photo safari to Africa. There were 7 on the trip plus a guide who was a photographer also.
The group flew to Johannesburg, South Africa and from there to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, following that, Botswana, and Namibia. Accommodations were from lodges to tented camps to a houseboat on the Chobe River. Most mornings wake-up was at 5:30 and by 6 they were in a boat or safari vehicle, heading out to get the good light of the early morning.
It was an incredible trip. Barb saw more than she ever dreamed of seeing and also learned more about her camera and photography. Come, hear, and see her story at the meeting of the Evansville Arts Coalition Photo Club on Thursday, April 7 at 7p.m.
