Let’s Celebrate Poetry Month!
Evansville Arts Coalition is having a birthday party, and we’re celebrating it with poetry!
Evansville Arts Coalition (EAC) is 30 this year, and in celebration we are hosting our Annual Poetry Night on Thursday, April 24 from 7-9pm, with birthday cake! The public is invited to attend this family-friendly event held at Evansville Art Center.
Celebrating 30 years of Poetry - and all the Arts
Evansville Arts Coalition (EAC) was incorporated as a nonprofit in 1996, and in April of that year we held our first Poetry Night. People that came that evening were surprised and pleased to share their favorite poems or read something they had written. Thus began an annual tradition that continued for 30 years (except in 2020), making it one of the longest-running literary events in west central Minnesota.
All Ages and Stages Welcome!
We’re doing it again this year, and we’ll be doing it with birthday cake! People of all ages are welcome; we have had readers from ages 6 to 95. We have had published poets and poetasters alike – all are welcome and enjoy the friendly audience.
If you write poetry, or just enjoy listening, we invite you to come for an evening of fun at Evansville Art Center. Although last minute participants may sign up to read on Poetry Night, we prefer you let us know ahead of time by using the button below.
Refreshments will be provided. Come at 6:30 p.m., readings begin at 7:00 p.m.
This is a free event. Donations to support Evansville Arts Coalition will be gratefully accepted, but are not necessary to participate.
